Reti Opening

MICOS Opening Group A04.RE – Réti Opening begins with 1.Nf3. Named after Richard Réti, it reflects the hypermodern approach of influencing the centre from the flanks rather than occupying it immediately with pawns. White often combines Nf3 with a kingside fianchetto using g3 and Bg2, creating pressure on the central light squares. The move 1.Nf3 develops the knight, prepares quick castling and prevents Black from immediately occupying the centre with …e5, while allowing White to remain flexible about the central pawn structure. Use the searchable table below to find openings by opening name, chess notation or MICOS code and train individual openings interactively with MICOS CAP.
