Center Game

MICOS Opening Group C02.CG – Center Game begins with 1.e4 e5 2.d4 exd4, where White immediately challenges Black’s central pawn and opens the position at an early stage. After Black captures on d4, White aims to regain the pawn while developing the pieces quickly and creating active play in the centre.

The Center Game can lead to open and tactical positions where rapid development, piece activity and control of the centre are particularly important. It is well suited to players who prefer direct attacking play and early opportunities to create tactical complications.
